Another day on the water filming for Gone Fishin'. This time a familiar face joined us - John Key, the Opposition Leader for the National Party of New Zealand. Where else in the world can you hang out with the next Prime Minister of a country for a few days, hundreds of kilometers away from the office, put a dive suit on him for the first time, a spear in his hand and throw him overboard??

Pictured on the left of screen is Darren Shields, our former underwater cameraman and better known amongst the world's diving fraternity as six times New Zealand Spear Fishing Champion. Darren is the sort of guy you would trust with your life and it's been an absolute pleasure to have known and worked with him over the years.

It's pretty rare to snatch a moment in time during the filming of this show, but this one was a chance in a lifetime.

We took John Key fishing again 12 mths later at Rotorua in 2009 - as the new Prime Minister of NZ (see gallery number 15).
