2003, and only the 2nd time that famed French rugby player, Phillippe Dintrans returned to New Zealands Eden Park after the historic win over the All Blacks in 1979. He's the biggest bloke in the middle!

France upset the All Blacks by winning 24–19 on Bastille Day at Eden Park. The victory was France's first win in New Zealand over the All Blacks.

Here we have the crew filming one of the episodes for 'Great Sporting Duels' commissioned out of France and in this case, produced by Larry Keating of Mediawave (who took this photo). Looking at the rugby culture that existed back in the 70's between France and New Zealand, we spent a couple of weeks with Philippe and other former All Blacks who played against France then. One of the highlights was a road-trip to Wellington and a wonderful reunion with the 1979 All Black captain, Graham Mourie who showed off his skills in the kitchen as well as his command of the French language.

This a nice image to have now that the Eden Park grandstands are being demolished and rebuilt for the 2011 rugby World Cup.
